Off Meta Labs

Privacy policy

The short version: Paperclip collects nothing. No analytics, no accounts, no servers, no telemetry. Files you open stay on your Mac.

This policy covers Paperclip and every Off Meta Labs app. If a future app ever needs to differ, its own page will say exactly how, in plain language, before you install it.

What Paperclip collects

Nothing. There is no analytics framework in the app, no account system, and no Off Meta Labs server for it to talk to. The App Store privacy label says “Data Not Collected” because there is no mechanism that could collect data.

What happens to files you open

They are read on your Mac, rendered on your Mac, and never transmitted anywhere. The app is sandboxed and can only read files you choose to open. Remote images in messages are blocked by default, which also blocks the tracking pixels senders sometimes embed; a content blocker prevents all other remote loads. Nothing loads from the network unless you choose to load images for a message.

Diagnostic reports

If a file fails to open, you can choose to send me a report. The report describes the file’s structure: shapes, sizes, offsets, and error traces. It never includes message content, addresses, or file paths. Nothing is sent automatically; the report goes out as an email that you send yourself, and you can read everything in it first.

Email

If you email support@offmetalabs.com, I receive your email address and whatever you wrote, and I use them to reply to you. That’s it. No lists, no marketing.
